Full Workday Project Team Meets for First Time at Open House

More than 50 Houston Methodist Workday project team members, HM leaders and consulting partners gathered Wednesday for a full-day open house event at Bellaire Place, where the cross-functional team will be working throughout the implementation. The project team includes employees from HR, Finance, Research, Supply Chain and IT. For many, this was the first time to visit their new workspace and meet their new colleagues.

In early 2026, Workday will replace MARS to manage many of our HR, financial, supply chain and planning functions. Every Houston Methodist employee will interact with Workday in some way, whether through payroll, benefits, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, learning, supply chain, accounting, grants or development.

Executive sponsors, Ken Letkeman, senior vice president and chief information officer, and Michael Brown, senior vice president and chief human resources officer, together cut a ceremonial ribbon to commemorate the occasion, and Dan Pantera, vice president, business practices officer and chief audit officer, and project director, Jennifer Ocasio, cut a celebratory cake.

“We have an enormous opportunity to positively impact tens of thousands of people for decades,” Letkeman said. “It’s great for us to meet each other, and it’s great to see the space.”

rown added, “Outside of providing patient care, this is one of the most important places to be at Houston Methodist right now. One day, when you reflect on your career, this will be one of your greatest achievements.”

Team members participated in various teambuilding activities led by Organizational Development and met with their respective team leads. The day culminated in an outdoor group photo.
